DAYDREAM

Daydream was born based on a prompt where we were to study an "old master" and replicate their style in one of our own pieces. I stuck with the same contrasting color palette and brush stroke treatment commonly associated with Vincent Van Gogh’s work and created a dreamy figure study. Van Gogh's work always reminded me of dreams, seeing movement where you couldn't actually see it with the human eye. So my figured is getting immersed in their book while the world around them is starting to slowly shift. This painting was an enlightening exploration of color, light and perspective.
